I’m a freelance writer living and working in Northeastern PA.
Being an avid gardener (Penn State Master Gardener alumni, current Garden Writers Association member) professional cook (35+ years), environmentalist, mother and grandmother provides me with a lot of material.
My published writings include contributing writer for three newspaper columns, “Garden Spot” in Pocono Record,”The Watering Whole” in Times News and “Lawn and Garden” in Pocono Xpress. My articles appearing in national publications include: Mother Earth News, Backhome Magazine, Clamor, Inscriptions, Relish, Parenting Humor, Poor Mojo’s Almanac, The Muffin and Funds for Writers.
As Grammy K, I published an organic gardening newsletter, Garden with Grammy K for over 2000 subscribers. I also posted a column on organic gardening for Green This Life.
My poetry placed within the top 100 of over 100,000 entries and subsequently published as a greeting card for Blue Mountain.
My fiction writing tends to cater to mysteries. I’m a member of the Short Mystery Fiction Society, Sisters in Crime and Crime Space. I’ve placed third in the 2007 Cape Fear Crime Festival Short Stories Contest.
Every once in a while, I enjoy dipping my toes into a little horror writing for @thermotrope, @tweetthemeat and @nanoism.
